Karl Wolfe was in the Air Force for 4 1/2 years beginning in January 1964. He had access to top-secret encryption and worked with tactical air command at Langley AFB in Virginia. While working on an NSA facility he saw pictures taken by the Lunar Orbiter of the moon that showed detailed artificial structures. These photos were taken before the Apollo landing in 1969.
In 2001 Wolfe claimed to have seen photographic evidence of an alien structure on the far side of the moon.
Strange Spire on the Moon
In a video interview Wolfe said that in the mid-1960s he had a top secret clearance and worked for Tactical Air Command at Langley AFB in Virginia.
Wolfe said his job was to work as an electronics technician in surveillance photo labs and that he spent most of his time working on machines that processed surveillance footage from Vietnam. One day Wolfe recalled that his superior told him to report to an NSA facility at the base to help with a problem with the equipment used to process images from the first lunar orbital mission.
Wolfe said he reported to the facility, which he described as a large hangar-like building with many foreign nationals in civilian clothes accompanied by interpreters — a surprising sight for the military.
The former airman recalled being alone in a darkroom with another second-class airman, when the other enlisted said: “By the way, we discovered a base on the back of the moon.”
“I said, ‘Whose? What you mean to say? ” recalled Wolfe. He said he was fascinated by the statement but feared someone would interfere with the conversation.
Then Wolfe said the aviator showed him a mosaic of photos assembled from several passes of the lunar orbiter.
“He pulled out one of these mosaics and showed this base that had geometric shapes — there were towers, there were spherical buildings, there were very tall towers and things that looked like radar antennas but were very large structures,” Wolfe said.
“Every day when I came home I was like, ‘I can’t wait to hear about this on the news,’” Wolfe said.
After serving in the Air Force, Wolfe attended the University at Buffalo with a dual major in Social and Cultural Anthropology and Electronic Engineering.
Karl R. Wolfe died in the crash on October 10, 2018 in Lansing, New York, after being hit by a tractor trailer traveling south on North Triphammer Road near Sharon Drive. He was 74 years old.
Wolfe was rushed to Cayuga Medical Center where he later died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Although the accident is under investigation, no charges have been filed and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has not released the name of the trailer driver, the Ithaca Journal reported.
