The first US Congressional public hearing on UFOs is giving a lot to talk about.
Testifying before a House intelligence subcommittee, Pentagon officials did not release additional information from their ongoing investigation of hundreds of unexplained sightings in the sky.
But they said they had chosen a director for a new task force to coordinate data collection efforts on what they officially called “unidentified aerial phenomena.”
Ronald Moultrie, assistant secretary of defense for intelligence, said the Pentagon is also trying to de-stigmatize the problem and encourage pilots and other military personnel to report anything unusual they see.
Mysterious object at high speed
A new video of “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP)” was revealed during the public hearing in the US Congress.
Pentagon intelligence officials opened up their real “X-Files” when asked by lawmakers what they knew about aliens.
Scott Bray, Deputy Director of Navy Intelligence, attended the House Subcommittee Hearing and said the government has recorded 400 reports of UFO sightings so far.
He played a new video, which was recorded in 2021, and stated that it was one of many examples for which they have no logical and rational explanations.
The images, taken from inside the cockpit of a U.S. Navy aircraft , show a reflective spherical object in the sky before rapidly passing the aircraft and disappearing entirely.
“The video shows the observation in real time,” explained Bray. “That is, in many cases, this is all that our report can include, and in many other cases we have much less than that.”
He went on to explain that the incidents likely fall into one of five categories:
“Disorder in the air, natural atmospheric phenomena, US government or industry development programs for hard cases and for the possibility of a possible scientific discovery.”
Bray was later asked by Congressman Brad Wenstrup if there was any explanation for the UAP shown in the video.
“The video was taken while the aircraft was operating at a US Navy training camp.” Bray replied. “We don’t have an explanation for this specific object.”
As expected, the Pentagon has not officially confirmed that the UAPs were of extraterrestrial origin.
However, Ronald Moultrie, the Pentagon’s top intelligence officer, offered another opinion on so-called unidentified aerial phenomena , as he did not rule out the possibility that these incidents could be related to extraterrestrial life.
“ There are elements of our government engaged in…searching for extraterrestrial life ,” Moultrie said. “Our goal is not to potentially cover something up, it’s to understand what might be out there. We want to know what’s out there as much as you do.”
